itunes 8 - remove genre view in browser
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008hmpf. the first new “feature” i noticed after firing up itunes 8 and checking the grid view for 5 sec. was the lack of the “genre in browser” setting for list view in the preferences. and as there’s nothing to set up anymore in this regard, itunes simply decides to silently turn it on for you again if you used to live without it.

if you feel the same, tell your terminal:
defaults write com.apple.itunes show-genre-when-browsing -bool FALSE
