“Lex Nokia” – big brother in finland

… and i always got the impression of finland being one of the places being pretty cool about data privacy etc. – but actually Nokia is just “threatening” the finnish government with leaving the country if their “snooping law” will not pass – and so far it seems to be pretty successful in doing so.

amazing, seems to be something different on government level, but i always tought stuff like this is called blackmailing.

however, in detail Nokia demands the right to make use of their email logs in order to prevent secrets from being leaked to other companies by employees.

yeah. sounds totally reasonable. what is it good for?
filtering all the “development@nokia.com” to “development@huawei.com” mails with the subject “secret construction plans” as i guess it is totally impossible to sneak out that stuff somehow and sending it from somewhere else?

let’s get the popcorn out and watch how this one turns out….
